Clean Stream Northland - a joint venture between CBEC and Te Runanga o Te Rarawa.

Clean Stream Northland has been established as a community response to a growing public concern over the amount of waste we generate. We aim to change attitudes and expectations of how we handle waste by providing simple, practical models of large scale resource recovery. CSN is contracted by Far North District Council to operate the 12 refuse transfer stations in the Far North

- Include the whole Northern community in the vision of zero waste to landfill.
- Achieve a waste reduction target for the northern network of Refuse Transfer Stations of 70% or more, by volume
- Maximise employment and local economic development opportunities through the recovery and reuse of waste.
- Work in partnership with the FNDC to develop a quality, cost effective, waste recovery service for the Far North.
- Provide a safe work environment that values the hard work of our employees
The Far North District Council's Web Site contains all the information on when the transfer stations are open, what type of waste can be dropped off there and also has details about what to do with your prohibited waste.
